Actor Tom Sizemore Passes Away at 61 After Being Taken Off Life Support

Tom Sizemore, the veteran actor known for his roles in hit films such as Saving Private Ryan (1998) and Natural Born Killers (1994), has died after being taken off life support.[0] He was[1]

Charles Lago, Sizemore’s manager, confirmed the news in a statement to Variety on Friday, saying: “It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (‘Tom Sizemore’) aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank. His brother Paul and twin boys Jayden and Jagger (17) were at his side.”[2]

Sizemore had been hospitalized on February 18 after suffering a brain aneurysm.[0] According to Lago, his condition had been critical and doctors had recommended end-of-life decision.

Sizemore had been battling substance abuse for years.[3] In 2003, he was found guilty of domestic violence for assaulting and tormenting his ex-partner, Heidi Fleiss.[4] He spent six months in jail.[5] In 2007, he was apprehended for alleged possession of methamphetamine and was ultimately convicted to 16 months in prison.[5] In 2010, he was featured on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew after disclosing to Larry King that he was struggling with addictions to cocaine, heroin and meth.[6] In 2017, The Hollywood Reporter reported that in 2003, Sizemore was dismissed from the set of Born Killers because of an accusation of sexual assault on an 11-year-old female.[7] Sizemore was charged by the girl, but the charges were dismissed.[7]

Sizemore is survived by his two children, Jagger and Jayden, whom he shared with Janelle McIntire.[2] Maeve Quinlan, who starred alongside Sizemore in The Florentine, tweeted, “My heartfelt condolences to the entire Sizemore family.[8] Most especially, my thoughts and prayers go out to Tom’s two sons, Jayden and Jagger.[9] May God hold you in the palm of his hand, give you strength and bless you both.[8] #tomsizemore #rip #tomsizemorerip.[8]
