Mariah Carey and Kim Kardashian Team Up for an Adorable Mother-Daughter TikTok Featuring North and Monroe
Mariah Carey and Kim Kardashian recently teamed up for an adorable mother-daughter TikTok, bringing together Kardashian's daughter North, 9½, and Carey's daughter Monroe, 11.[0] In the video, posted to Kardashian's personal TikTok account Monday (February 20), North and Monroe perform a dance routine to Carey's track “It's a Wrap,” before their moms join them singing into hair brushes.[1] The video was captioned “We love you @rihanna Happy Birthday xoxo Roe and North.”[2]
Kardashian captioned the post: “It's a wrap! But never for us!” and her fans sounded off on a popular Kardashian Reddit page.[3] The girls also posted their rendition of Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance in honor of the singer’s 35th birthday.[4] In Monroe's version, they are dressed in a red outfit, similar to Rihanna's, while North is wearing all white, like the Halfbackup dancers.
Nick Cannon, Carey's ex and Monroe’s father, showed his appreciation for the video. “I loved it. To be honest, it was epic,” he told ET.[5] “My daughter has the entertainment bug… [You can] definitely see that connection with her and her mom. It's beautiful, the fact that they get to have fun with each other… families are connecting in a different way than ever before.”
Kylie Jenner, Kardashian's youngest sister, also joined the family fun as she teamed up with her ‘favourite' sister for a viral TikTok dance.[6] In the video, posted by Jenner, both sisters are seen dancing to Carey's song.
The mother-daughter duo have been making the rounds on TikTok, with North and Monroe also posting their version of Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance.[2] In the nine-second clip, Monroe pretended to be Rihanna by wearing all-red, similar to what the singer had worn during the performance, while North was dressed in white and sported black shades, reflecting one of the backup dancers from Rihanna’s performance.
