Paris Hilton and Carter Reum Welcome ‘Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum’ – A Meaningful Tribute to Late Grandfather
Paris Hilton and her husband Carter Reum have announced the name of their newborn son, Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum.[0] The 42-year-old heiress revealed the name through her podcast, “This is Paris”, on Wednesday and shared the first pictures of her son on Instagram the day after.[1]
“As you all know, Carter and I have been blessed with the arrival of our baby boy. He is such a precious angel, and we’re over the moon, so in love with him. We’re just so excited to start our family, and we can’t wait for you to see him,” she said.[2] When introducing her son to her mother, Hilton described the moment as “priceless”.
The couple decided to keep the news of their son’s arrival private and did not even tell their closest family members until he was over a week old. “My entire life has been so public. I’ve never had anything for myself. We decided that we wanted to have this whole experience to ourselves,” Hilton explained.[3]
The couple chose the name Phoenix for their son as it is the bird that “flames out and then rises from the ashes to fly again”. Hilton added that she wanted her son to grow up knowing that “disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives and that this should give us great hope for the future.”[4]
In addition, Phoenix’s middle name, Barron, is a tribute to Hilton’s late grandfather, whom she looked up to and was very close with. “I wanted to honor him by having his name in my first son’s name,” she said.[5]
The name Phoenix was even predicted by Ellen DeGeneres over a year ago. In a funny twist of fate, a video has resurfaced of DeGeneres correctly guessing the name, which left Hilton in shock at the time.
It’s clear that Paris Hilton is embracing motherhood and is savoring every moment with her newborn son.[6] “You have this mother instinct that kicks in, which I’ve never had before. I feel so complete now,” she said.[7]
