Red Carpet Ready: The Best Looks of the 95th Academy Awards
The 95th Academy Awards are here, and Hollywood's biggest stars have stepped out onto the champagne-colored red carpet, a significant change from the usual shade of red.[0] From Eva Longoria's shimmering frock to Cate Blanchett's art deco-inspired gown, see all the night's best show-stopping looks at the Oscars 2023![1]
Eva Longoria attended the event in a monochrome Giambattista Valli gown, featuring geometric patterns and embellished with clear crystals and white pearls. The plunging neckline featured a built-in choker strap that doubled as a shimmering necklace, while the sleeves were breezy though fastened at the wrists.[2] The Art Deco-inspired design came together at the center of the skirt, which cascaded down to the carpet.[3] Longoria accessorized with diamond rings and diamond flower-shaped cluster earrings by Chopard, and opted for a relaxed, gelled-back wavy ‘do and shimmery glam.[3]
Ana de Armas also earned a nomination for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in the Netflix biopic Blonde.[4] She looked like a princess in a beautiful Giambattista Valli gown paired with Chopard jewels.[5]
At the Academy Awards on Sunday night, Sofia Carson (singer-actor) and Diane Warren (14-time Oscar-nominated songwriter) gave a live performance of their nominated song “Applause” from the film “Tell It Like a Woman”.[6] Carson implored the female population globally to “give yourselves some applause” during the plain, direct rendition of the ballad.[6] She was wearing a Valentino dress and shoes, along with Mikimoto jewelry.[7]
The 41-year-old Chinese actress Fan Bingbing also made an appearance, wearing a luxurious black gown with a high slit and intricate beading. After her statement regarding her unpaid taxes, the actress took to Chinese site Weibo to apologize for her actions.[8] She has since explained that the experience made her “calm down and think seriously about what I want to do in my future life.[8]
