Priyanka Chopra Opens Up About Challenges Faced After Her Daughter’s Premature Birth and NICU Stay
Priyanka Chopra, the global icon, recently spoke out about the challenges she faced after her daughter Malti was born premature and had to spend more than 100 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In an interview with Today.com, she revealed that she and her husband Nick Jonas split their time so that there was always one of them with their daughter while she was in the NICU.[0]
Chopra, who welcomed her daughter via surrogate in January 2022, admitted that she didn't think she had the luxury to be scared or weak because Malti was scared and weak. As her mother, Chopra knew that she needed to be strong for her daughter and make her feel that she was not alone.[0] She also shared that she was so close to losing her daughter many times that she couldn't even imagine disciplining her.[0]
Chopra and Jonas welcomed their daughter Malti in January 2022, and the couple posted the first photo of them with their baby on Mother's Day that May.[0] They revealed that Malti had finally come home with them after spending more than 100 days in the NICU due to medical difficulties.[0] Chopra also revealed in an interview with Elle Magazine USA that her daughter has got her wrapped around her finger, and she doesn't have it in her to discipline her.[0]
Chopra and Jonas have been over the moon ever since the birth of their daughter, and they have often shared glimpses of their newborn.[0] However, the couple has also been open about the challenges they faced in bringing their daughter home. Chopra recalled spending 110 days in the NICU with her little girl and waking up every couple of minutes just to make sure that she was okay.[0]
Despite the challenges, Chopra and Jonas have managed to split the domestic load naturally, and they both contribute to taking care of their daughter. Chopra believes that acts of service are her love language, and she tries to alleviate whatever pressure is on her loved ones by doing some of the chores or taking on something that they always do.[0]
