Robert De Niro Welcomes Seventh Child at 79 with Rumored Girlfriend Tiffany Chen
Legendary actor Robert De Niro recently revealed that he has welcomed his seventh child during an interview about his new project, About My Father. Although he did not specify with whom, De Niro shares two children, daughter Drena and son Raphael, with his first wife, American actor Diahnne Abbott.[0] From 1976 to 1988, the couple was married but is no longer together.[1] He also has twin sons, Julian and Aaron, with ex-girlfriend, model Toukie Smith, and shares son Elliot and daughter Helen Grace with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower.[0]
De Niro, who is currently promoting the family comedy About My Father, in which he plays a fictional version of comedian Sebastian Maniscalco's father, spoke about his parenting style and admitted that he's not necessarily a “cool dad.” He also mentioned that his children sometimes disagree with him but are respectful.[2]
De Niro's rumored girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, was spotted out and about with their newborn just days after the actor revealed he welcomed his seventh child at 79.[3] Chen, a skilled martial artist and teacher, has received numerous accolades and championships from all over the world.[4] The couple first sparked romance rumors in August 2021 when they were spotted holding hands while vacationing in the South of France.[5]
During the New York premiere of About My Father, De Niro told Extra that he's “good with” becoming a dad again, but added that parenthood “never gets easier.”[1] While he did not provide any further details about the newest family member or the partner he welcomed the baby with, a representative for De Niro confirmed that he is now a father of seven.
De Niro's new film About My Father comes out later this month and stars stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. The subject of the actor's seventh child had arisen during the interview about the film, in which he plays old-world Italian American dad Salvo in Maniscalco’s semi-autobiographical seriocomedy.
De Niro, who has had an illustrious career in Hollywood, has won two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a BAFTA Award. He has starred in iconic films such as The Godfather: Part II, Raging Bull, and Goodfellas. With his latest addition to the family, De Niro proves that he's not just a legendary actor, but also a devoted father.[1]
